Brown Bear, a boxer mix, lives with his owners on a dairy farm that has been in their family for seven generations. Like most small farms, finances are very tight.
When Brown Bear was injured in a car accident the owners took him to Dr. Nicole LaMora, an NYSVMS member who owns Brunswick Veterinary Hospital. Her femural artery was severed and neither treatment option was good. It was either amputation or euthanasia. The owners were able to pay a good proportion of the cost for the amputation, but needed help. That’s where the Capital District Veterinary Care Fund stepped in with a $1,000 contribution.
Brown Bear recovered successfully and is doing very well.
