We have compiled the following list of resources that can help you find the right help for your pet

 

New York Programs

Name Description, services provided
NY SAVE NY Save Animals in Veterinary Emergency (NY SAVE) provides funds for emergency care and/or serious illness or injury when owners have exhausted all other avenues for financial support. Vets aid in the effort by reducing their normal fees to provide life-saving treatment.

Spay/Neuter, community cat, pet pantry, behavior helpline and other community resources for Rochester/Monroe County
SPCA serving Erie County Lipsey Veterinary Clinic Low-cost wellness examinations, vaccines, and basic preventives; diagnosis and treatment of minor medical issues
Shamrock Animal Fund Vet care assistance in Syracuse and Central New York – owners must pay a majority of the bill, and the veterinarian must discount services

Financial assistance, resources, and emotional support for pet guardians struggling with economic hardship when pets are in life-threatening situations
The Pet Fund Funds non-urgent, non-basic care
The Onyx & Breezy Foundation Individual and organizational grants to cover veterinary care
The Mosby Foundation Funding for vet care (dogs only) in extenuating circumstances
Help-A-Pet Financial assistance for veterinary care for individuals under income thresholds
Frankie’s Friends Variety of programs that provide financial assistance for emergency or specialty care and for animals in the care of approved rescue groups
Bow Wow Buddies Foundation Funding for individual owners and shelters/rescues (dogs only)
Street Dog Coalition Provide free medical care and related services to the pets of people experiencing (or at risk of) homelessness. They have also expanded to caring for the people as well, as per a One Health approach
Handicapped Pets Foundation Wheelchairs for pets in need
Vet Direct Safety Net (Equine Only) Up to $600 for equine emergency vet bills
