We’ve launched. Over the last few months we have helped 10 animals with a total of $12,635 awarded in grants.

In most situations the owners have already contributed significantly to the care of their pet, but have tapped out their credit. Their veterinarians reach out to the Veterinary Care Fund for help.

It might be an emergency amputation, dental disease, urinary issues, and even injuries from being attacked by another dog. Awards have been around NY State from Long Island, through the Hudson Valley and up into the Southern Tier.

This has been an exciting first few months for the Veterinary Care Funds, as word spreads among both veterinarians who need funds and donors who can help provide them.

Our fund balance stands at $56,000. We’ve raised $12,000 from donors, to supplement $25,000 in matching grants from NYSVMS and and a further $30,000 from Regional Veterinary Medical Associations.

Funds are available for NYSVMS member veterinarians in Capital District, Central NY, Genesee Valley, Hudson Valley, Long Island, Southern Tier and Westchester Rockland.

NOTE: We do not make grants to the general public. Our funds help NYSVMS members whose client can’t raise the full cost of treatment.
