The scholarships are possible because Instinct funds them — we’re grateful for the support.

“I had tried to budget multiple times and failed before in my life, never had an emergency fund, and never thought about investing right out of vet school. Three months later, I now have an active budget, have an emergency fund, and am starting to invest.”

InstinctScholarships funded by Instinct

Free scholarships are available.

Instinct is funding scholarships that cover the 90-day Money Mentorship Program in full for eligible NYSVMS members.

Apply for the program and, if Mike accepts you, the scholarship covers the fee — you pay nothing. Open to NYSVMS members within five years of graduation. Applications close October 2 for the cohort starting October 5, and we expect to offer scholarships for later cohorts this year too.

The 90-day program

What ninety days actually changes.

One hour a week, a plan built around your career, and NYSED CE credit for the work you were going to have to do anyway.

What you’ll leave with

  • A student loan repayment strategy matched to your career plans
  • A personalized spending plan you’ll actually keep
  • An emergency fund sized for your life, not a rule of thumb
  • Specific, measurable goals you can start on this week
  • An investment strategy that puts your savings to work

What it costs

$795 for NYSVMS members — $100 below the standard rate. The program carries NYSED CE credit, so many members use their existing CE allowance and pay nothing out of pocket. An Instinct scholarship covers the fee in full for members in their first five years.

Who it’s for

NYSVMS members seven years or less out of vet school who complete a no-obligation discovery call with Mike before the cohort opens.

Why it exists

Financial stress is a leading cause of burnout in early-career practice, and anxiety over money shows up in care quality and retention. Removing the distraction early lets new veterinarians put their attention on clinical development instead.

Next cohort

Applications close October 2 and the cohort begins October 5. More cohorts follow later this year, with sponsorships and — we expect — more Instinct scholarships alongside them.
