Group crafts consensus definition of veterinary wellbeing

A new group—the Veterinary Wellbeing Collective—is calling for a more coordinated approach to veterinary wellbeing and to that end, has developed a consensus definition. “Over the past 10 years, a growing field of practice has developed as numerous initiatives have been created within the veterinary field to promote mental health and wellbeing,” leaders of the collective wrote in a special report in JAVMA.
Veterinary Scholars Symposium draws record number of students

The 37th annual Veterinary Scholars Symposium (VSS) saw the biggest registration numbers yet, according to organizers. More than 700 veterinary and PhD students from around the world convened to present their original research at VSS, themed “Benchtop to Cage-side: The Development of Clinician Scientists,” from August 5-8 at North Carolina State University (NCSU) College of Veterinary Medicine in Raleigh, North Carolina.
New CE series puts veterinary technicians in focus

When their skills and expertise are fully integrated in daily practice, everyone benefits: Veterinary teams can provide great patient care more efficiently, with everyone on the team contributing at their highest level. A new AVMA initiative coming in September will support broader integration of veterinary technicians by bringing top-level learning to everyone on the care team, at no charge through the end of 2026.
